I hope you all like it, I got it from a cousin through e-mail.....

If a dog was the teacher you would learn stuff like:

    1. When loved ones come home, always run to greet them.

    2.  Never pass up the opportunity to go for a joyride.

    3. Allow the experience of fresh air and the wind in your face to be pure ecstasy.

    4.   When it's in your best interest, practice obedience.

    5. Let others know when they've invaded your territory.

    6. Take naps.

    7.  Stretch before rising.

    8.   Run, hump, and play daily.

    9.   Thrive on attention and let people touch you.

    10.   Avoid biting when a simple growl will do.

    11.   On warm days, stop to lie on your back on the grass.

    12.   On hot days, drink lots of water and lie under a shady tree.

    13.  When you're happy, dance around and wag your entire body.

    14.  No matter how often you're scolded, don't buy into the guilt thing
and pout...run right back and make friends.

    15. Delight in the simple joy of a long walk.

    16.  Eat with gusto and enthusiasm.  Stop when you have had enough.

    17. Be loyal. Never pretend to be something you're not.

    18. If what you want lies buried, dig until you find it.

    19. When someone is having a bad day, be silent, sit close by and nuzzle

    them gently.

    Last but not least.....

    20. Help mum take the clothes off the line!!!

I can remember hanging towels on the line one day, and came home to two towels on the ground (because i forgot to put their blankets out before i went to work), Jasper and Miah had gotten them off the line and had them on the ground laying on them. I didn't go off because they looked so cute and innocent and looked at me as if to say 'well mother, if u brought our blanket outside, we woudln't be in the this situation'.....

Hey, they limited themselves to two towels - obviously it was your fault! :)

I love the list - I am copying it to keep.

Someone really does understand how pooches think - my two practice a lot of those things.... and more. Please read on. They haven't taken to "helping with the washing" - I'm sure that's only because I haven't risked that yet!
I do have a bit of a problem with my two boys - they have taken to stealing things ... first off, it was the odd sock - then it was a pair. This was explainable, they were left on the floor. However, putting them up out of the way didn't help - we're up for 7, yes 7 pairs now. Not to mention the 3 pairs of shoes (plain stupidity I know, learnt that lesson really quickly. But that's not the end of it - have been through 3 x $28 dog bed covers, 3 hessian covers and several fluffy towels (thought I'd comfy up the beds for them.... more stupidity on my part :D Aah, but there's a real corker - last night, one of them stole my daughter's mobile phone from the coffee table..... we are running dental forensics to match up the chew pattern! We will progressively have the tidiest house in history which should limit the damage bill :D Oh yes, I forgot to mention the hoses, hose nozzles and sprinklers and various plants. I'm sure all dogs gets a bit bored, but this is ridiculous. At least we are over the shock now and run damage control when we come home each night!! Any suggestions??

Supervision works. When they can't be supervised, they need to be somewhere they can't get in trouble - gated in a dog-proof room, crated, in an appropriate outdoor kennel, etc.
