The Raw Food Diet - Helping your Dog v. Helping Yourself

So I've been giving this raw food diet serious thought. I think I will be switching my two dogs onto it in about a year when I get a house. Thanks much for your input, Jamiya (I hope that's spelt right).

Anyway, so I was thinking of the irony of the situation - if there is actually one. I say this b/c I assume that not all raw-food dog owners are "healthy"...

People are switching their dogs to this diet b/c it's what the dog would be eating if he were living in the wild. It's greater for his health and longevity.

Do you think many people follow this health approach - eat what's good for me, eat what's natural - with their own lives?

If it's the processing and chemicals that are in the kibbles that causes the human-diseases in dogs, shouldn't it be, to some extent, the processing and chemicals in our foods that cause our sour health as well? Granted there are other external factors - such as being exposed to second hand smoke and car fumes etc - that contribute but let me ask you, are you following this approach with your own life? If not, why not?

I actually decided to become a vegetarian several years ago when I researched dogfoods. I realized I was putting all that research into my dogs' food, but not alot into mine. But....I gave that up a few years ago...LOL!

I always thought I had all sorts of food allergies but after i moved to germany I could eat anything, but now that I am back in Usa my allergies came back, so I think that it isn't allergies per se, but rather something, like a preservative that is put in food her, bc most of that stuff is illegal or very unheard of in germany.
