I've had small moggies and large moggies (Zeus). My smallest was Sessy. I took her from a cat collector situation when she was 6 weeks old (nasty vile disgusting environment....poor baby had every parasite known to feline kind). She remained tiny but she was healthy once I got my hands on her.

My sealpoint Siamese is 9 years old and she weighs a mere 6 lbs., while my bluepoint weighs about 8.

I don't think weight/size necessarily determines the health of a cat - it can vary so much. As long as your baby is active, healthy and has a good appetite I wouldn't worry about size. It's not always important you know

Yep, all that matters is that Ollie is eating well and is healthy. Cats like people come in all different sizes and shapes. Pumpkin was considered underweight when she was a kitten. Her vet prescribed Prednizone and now she's a big kitty, but healthy. Hubby calls her fat.

    is a moggie a kitty cat??? :0011:

when they are kittens...a good rule of thumb is a pound a month for the first 10 to 12 months. their growth usually slows around 9 mos or so, from my experience. max, was only two pounds at three months. he wasnt growing because he had giardia...a parasite that causes problems in absorbing nutrition. but!! he weighs ten pounds now...a little over. he is going to be a year old on jan 17 2005.

i like the word moggie....and i like the word meezer :D

My oldest sister is 4'10" tall and in grade school she was a tyrant...her idea of payback was to hang a guy up on a hook in the jacket room

My boys are 7 months now..and they weigh 6.8 and 7.0 but when they were 4 months..they weighed 3.8 and 3.0...they were also small for their ages...my 5 yr old only weighs 9lbs...so they are gaining on her big time..i think the woman i adopted my boys from had their ages wrong..i got them at 9 weeks...but they didnt look any older than 6 weeks..

That is totally funny Mary. My grandma is 5', my mom 5'2", and I'm 5'3". I discovered that when one is short, one can get away with lots of things like being first in line for lots of things, and have people get things for you that you can't reach in stores. LOL's. I just remembered that while growing up, I was big time spoiled because of my shortness!
