I just got this in my e-mail today and thought I'd share the news. I hope it's not a hoax:

There has been a recall on "Diamond Pet Food" due to toxic mold. Seven dogs have already died in the Rochester area because of the dog food containing the mold. If you feed your dogs or cats Diamond food, please check their website to see if your food is one of the products being recalled:

I just came over to the board to make sure that you were all aware. Unfortunately, it's definitely NOT a hoax (it's posted on Diamond's website) http://www.diamondpet.com/

Diamond Pet Food has discovered aflatoxin in a product manufactured at our facility in Gaston, South Carolina. Aflatoxin is a naturally occurring toxic chemical by-product from the growth of the fungus Aspergillus flavus, on corn and other crops.
    ....
States serviced by our Gaston facility include Alabama, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky (eastern), Main, Maryland, Massachusetts, Mississippi, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, West Virginia, Vermont, and Virginia.

Thanks for posting this. My neighbor is feeding Diamond and was freaking out when he heard this.

Yea, the breeder I got my puppy from also feeds Diamond (to her rescues)... she's very concerned too! They are all going to the vet immediately :( This is soooo scary! I feel blessed not to have to worry about it :(

I hope their little ones are ok. I just heard on the news that 17 dogs have died in NY and that 9 dogs were from western NY.
