    Greetings fellow cat lovers!

I've joined up to ask if anyone may have shared a similar experience and could offer me some advice. My oldest cat Azrael (2 1/2) developed a lump about the size of a small flat grape in his upper forearm. It is not attached to any tissue. I brought him to the vet and they drew fluid to send in for testing. My understanding from what I could find on the net was that being able to draw fluid made it more likely to be a cyst. I get the results back in a few days, but here is the question:

The fluid drawn was a dark brown in color, like tobacco juice (I know, gross). The vet was at a complete loss. I don't like the sound of that. If anyone who knows anything or could help or point me in the right direction, please let me know. Thank you all and take care!

:m23: and welcome! I'm sorry your kitty had a cyst and had to have it drained. Maybe the dark color is indicative of an infection. It does happen. Hope all is well. Sending lots of love and well wishes heading your way. Love to see pics if you have any! :m10:

On a recent visit to the vet I noticed a squishy bump on the back of my kitty. The vet didn't drain anything but suggested I place a warm damp cloth on it twice a day for 5 minutes. He said if it didn't go away to bring her back. Well...within a week the mysterious bump disappeared. I still don't know what it was but it's gone now.

Just a suggestion. Hope your furbaby is OK.

The vet got the results back this afternoon. Just a cyst, nothing to get concerned over. What a relief...Thanks everyone! You've got a really loving community here.
