    Hi all,

Well, Cassie has been on her chicken and fish for a week now. All seemed well .. and still does to a certain extent. She is very good in herself .. eating well and has got back to her 'normal' daily routine. She seems happy and gets very excited at dinner times.

She's done a few normal stools, but earlier today I did notice her having a runny one. She has had 3 changes of diets though in the past month, so I'm wondering whether I should wait to see if she settles down in that department. There's been no vomiting, and she's only going out for a poo once a day. Because she had a few normal ones I haven't been watching her as rigidly as I had when she'd been vomiting too, but there's been a couple of yellowy runny ones.

Seeing her as she is I feel like I should give her at least another week to see how she goes. She is so like herself again, and doesn't seem in pain at all, and certainly isn't in and out the house like she was before when she had diarrhoea constantly. I will keep my eye on her 'poo patch'. When I rang my vet previously suggesting she did a stool test she said she wouldn't really be able to tell much from it, but from what I've read that's one of the first tests that is normally done. My vet is great normally, but I can't see why she won't do a stool test. I imagine it would eliminate certain things?

Anyhow, I'm not panicking just yet, just because Cassie does seem so well. If she'd not been ill previously I wouldn't even be checking her stools, and really would have no indication that something isn't right. However, that doesn't give me reason to NOT worry. I will take her straight back for her xray if it continues but previous to this improvement in health they were intending to check for a blockage. Well, she obviously doesn't have a blockage! I'm baffled really ..

Well I'm happy to hear that she is doing well and I hope it continues. I will keep her in my thoughts.

Happy to hear Cassie is doing well. To answer your question about the stool test, with what youve told us in the posts about Cassie a stool test is not so high on the list, taking into account her age and all her symptoms the bloodwork and x-rays would be the initial concerns. Not to say that the stool test is irrelevant, to be honest if it would put your mind at rest, its not an expensive test and it only takes about 10 minutes to get the results, I dont see why your vet refuses to do it, does she know how strongly you feel about this?.....Again though like I said I would have an ultrasound and even an endospcopy higher up on the list than the stool test.
Lets just hope that Cassie doesnt need any more trips to the vet though, sounds as though shes settling down and feeling much better.

I'm glad to hear Cassie is back to her old self again :D I would probably do the same as you, wait and see.
