As of this past Friday 9-16-05. My credit card company found Pet City to be neglegant in selling us such a sick dog and have credited my account for my out of pocket vet bills. He is at over $1100.00 in vet costs and we have only had him for 7 weeks. Pet City has paid $866.00 warranty and the $300+ is out of my pocket. Alot for a $550.00 dog with just a cold as simply stated by Pet city. We are currently in dispute with the Better Business and also have consulted about the California Puppy Lemon law which they violated. This would cause them not to be able to sell any animals for 1 month and a $1000.00 fine. It is a small victory but I am sure glad we were able to get some money back. Now I can get on with our new addition to the family. By the way, I had to keep our 6 yr old son away from the new puppy for 6 weeks. The puppy not only had pnemonia, earmites, kennel cough but also had ringworm which is contagious to us humans :( We now have a very happy puppy who is smothered with attention now that he is no longer contagious.

I am very glad your pup is doing better and you have been able to recoup some of your financial losses and maybe with your help you can educate people as to why they should never ever purchase animals from pet stores.
As long as people continue to do this pet stores will continue to sell puppies gotten from puppy mills and puppy mills will continue to thrive.
Supply and demand - if the demand stops the supply will end and hopefully the nasty vile puppy millers will go away.

One thing I'd suggest is that you should file a complaint with the USDA and your local health department. Pet stores are supposed to be inspected by the USDA periodically, and if the pup had a disease that is communicable to humans the health department might also have a few words with them.
