Well, I was soooo lucky. Yesterday, myself, my husband and a few friends took a 3 1/2 hour bus ride to New York City. Of course we were going to see the American Staffordshire Terriers.
Oh my goodness, what georgous dogs. We were allowed backstage where ALL the dogs were getting groomed and/or resting in their crates. I actually met and was able to pat THE BEST OF SHOW AMERICAN STAFFORDSHIRE TERRIER. He was GEOGROUS. I also was able to meet and pat many other breeds of dogs. Actually, there were only a few snobby people. When my husband went to take a pic of the Rottie best of show, the security guard of the dog became offended and told me husband that the dog was "TRYING TO REST". He said he was sorry. Another snooty lady almost hit my friends hand. LOL. 99.9 percent of the handlers/owners were great and it was such a fun day. I can't wait to go again.

Susan, how fun!! I came to work this morning so excited talking about the show, and the guy I work with thought I was nuts, how could I get excited about a dog show. What I liked this year is more unknown breeds (not uknown) but the breeds that never win in their breed are now doing so. I am tired of seeing the little terriers and poodles win

LOL Yea, those darn poodles with their haircuts! LOL.
We were saying the same thing. I have some very nice pics of a few breeds of dogs (some are in their kennels) I was fortunate enough to meet and pet and speak to the dogs handler (for a long time) a beautiful American Staffordshire Terrier. I think he got 3rd place ribbon in his catagory. I even got some of the American Staffordshire Terrier people's business cards just in case I can ever afford one of their pups (Maybe if I refinance my home)? Hey at least I know have info on where to purchase a Perfect American Staffordshire Dog No more BYB's for me LOL (Too bad I will never have that kind of money) Anyway, I still love my shelter dogs with no background and no papers. But its always nice to dream. If anyone wishes to see a few pics from the show, you can e-mail me directly at MyPetTherapyDogs@yahoo.com Just put Westminster dog pics in the subject. I don't know how to post pics like the rest of you on this board. I am computer dumb!!!
