I have posted here before- I have a 2 year old Diabetic male cat....Here is my problem.....
Well, for the past 2 month-my cat has had elevated white blood cell counts. :( He goes up & Down. The Vet said 16 (thousand?) was normal, my cat was once as low at 18, but now he is back up to 22. (He started at 26). He has been on Clavamox, then Zithromax... My vet suggested going to see an Internist doctor and see if maybe he has an allergy or maybe a parasite. I hope its nothing major & that its curable. Any ideas? Please write me back-I would love to hear if any of you have had the same problem, or if you have any insight for me. Keep my kitty in your prayers, please. We have a doctor's appt next Tuesday the 14th. Thanks!! :)

the cat was put on antibiotics with no known definite cause? I would also seek another opinion. I know high white blood counts tend to mean an infection somewhere but I would see if another vet can pinpoint what is going on. I would do it....especially for a cat that is only 2 years old regardless of the diabetes

Well, my vet tested his blood & found out he has high white blood cell count, so she put him on an anti biotic to bring the cell count down. She just said it was an infection..... Thankfully, he has an apt. with an Internist tomorrow morning- Hopefully it is nothing major & it is curable. My Poor little Fella. I feel horrible for him-he is going through a lot yet he is sooo happy, playful & so loving. Breaks my heart. Please keep him in your prayers- Thanks! I will keep you all posted asap, once I get the 2nd opinion!!

He's in my heart and thoughts. It sounds like he knows that he has a loving owner and enviornment. Sounds like you couldn't do more to make him comfie in this time.
