What is the point of getting a clam?

    Yeah like gran said, Their adaquate cleanup crews but aggressive fish always seem to get into their shells... And Ive heard that their shells can make the water harder. Good Luck!

    they feed off some nitrates, algae in the water, and other debris....tey were fine with my africans for a few months until they were broken in to and eaten
