will my dog's ears stand up?

Ok well I dont think my pups are full chihuahas, but their ears are so floppy at the moment, I was just wondering if they would ever stand up?
Sometimes it seems like Bill's (left) ear is about to stand up but then after awhile it just flops back down to where it was before. Pasha's (right) ears are almost as long as his face, so Bill keeps biting on them, so there are alot of puppy screams when they play.

I have no idea but they sure are cute. Maybe they'll end up with one ear up and one floppy...I love that look.

One of my dogs had one floppy ear and the other started to stand up then by 4 months old both were all the way up. Those pups are adorable.

My mom had long hair chi, when I was a kid and if I remember right, their ears flopped for a few months, then stood up later, but I think they look huge for chi puppies, I think they look more like pugs or something bigger (without the smushy noses) Our puppies could fit in tshirt pockets and shoes until they were at least 6 months old if not a year. But I think there is still hope for their ears standing up!

    Hi there
I agree the puppies are very cute :) But BIg for chi's.
Any dog that is supposed to have stand up ears may go through a floppy stage, while they're teething and such before the ears will stand all the way. But if they'll (the ears) will stand they usually will by six months. It's important that the cartlidge doesn't break before that.
    good luck with the babies.

I agree - they are HUGE for Chihuahuas, and they certainly don't look purebred to me. Cute though. Its impossible to say whether their ears will stand up or not, especially considering the fact that they are mix breeds. The Chihuahua I had years ago had floppy ears until she was about four and a half months old. After that, they stood solid. My Shepherd pups (I bred them many years ago) would usually have their ears standing before five months of age. Before that time, their ears did all kinds of crazy things from one day to the next. Depends somewhat on the bloodlines too. Some erect eared breeds will have their ears up by three months.
