You know you've had cats too long when:

You talk to them like they were your kids.

Oh man, do I hear ya!!!!!!

I talk to Ruby all the time, and she understands a lot of things that I say...."Is Ruby hungry??" "Where are your toes??" and the best "I'm gonna get you!!" When I say that, she takes off running for her hiding place and I have to go and chase her and we play hide and seek (she always finds me!).

I always tell her to clean up the house when I'm at work.......but for some reason she doesn't understand that!!

    Peace

    LOL, Michelle & Ruby.

Maybe your kitty does understand but just doesn't want to clean the house.

Okay, everyone, how would you finish this sentence:

You know youve had cats too long when your standing at the front door talking to your neighbour with one cat on you shoulder and another hanging off your leg....and its your neighbour that brings this to your attention.

You know you've had cats too long when:

You meow instead of talk in the house or at work when no one else is around.

You tear down your new $3000 deck and build a sunroom so your cats, not you can enjoy the outdoors in the comfort and safety of home.

Cleaning up pukes and butt scoops are no big deal and you can do it without gagging.

You know you've had cats too long when:

You can relate to them better than any human you know.
And when they meow, it makes sense.

You know you've had your cat too long when:
You'd rather spend time with the cat rather than your husband.

Maybe thats just because I've had my cat long than my hubby!!
    Maybe not!
But I love them both dearly.

    I have another one.

You know when you have too long when:

I let Mittens sleep in the computer chair and get another uncomfortable folding chair to sit at the computer. I don't want to disturb my poor little kitty.

Here is a photo to prove my point on the post above. After I posted it I thought I would take a picture of Mittens.

There she is all comfy and I was sitting on the folding chair. I think I spoil my kitties.

Ah, yes, she has you where she wants you. She knows that she's the queen and you exist to meet her needs!

Great pic sunset05! I do that too, except Luna takes it a step further. My favorite chair in the living room (a glider rocker) also happens to be Luna's favorite snoozing place. If I'm sitting in it when she wants to take a nap on it, she'll sit down in front of me and stare at me, or she'll come up alongside me and start tapping me with her paw. I almost always give in and let her have the chair, and when I don't, she waits until I get up for whatever reason and then steals my seat. And being that I don't like sitting on our couch (too little back support) I usually end up sitting in, you guessed it, a folding chair.

You know you've had cats too long (or your cat is too spoiled) when you are physically and mentally exhausted but you stay up an extra hour because you don't want to disturb the sleep of the cat that's curled up in your lap. I tell ya, I don't feel too good about it this morning!

LOL lunaguy and halaroo. What we won't do for our cats!

My kitties like to settle in on me at times but my legs get cramped after awhile so I have to move and they get off, and are not happy about it. Poor kitties.

Another thing that happens at dinner time is that Socks likes to lie on one of the chairs at the table in the kitchen while I'm making dinner. When we're ready to eat, instead of making her get off of my chair, I pull a chair from the dining room so as not to disturb Socks. I just slide her chair over while she is still on it and she can be with us while we eat.

Lol's. I can totally relate. Whenever any one of the kitties settle down on us in bed or on our laps, we'd always have to wait until they leave on their own. Even pottying has to wait. Sunset, Milo likes to sleep on my toddler's dining chair. He's been doing this for the past 3 days. So when it's dinner time, my son will tell me Milo's on his chair again. I tell him to sit on another chair next to Milo. Milo's/my son's chair happen to be the head of the household chair so lately Milo's been reigning supreme. He's the King of the house, lol's. Milo's also in the habit of sleeping in my daughter's bassinet. So rather than move Milo, I place my infant daughter on a bouncer to sleep instead.

I think the bigger issue is when they talk back (just like kids) ;)

you know you've had cats too long when....

you do what they say right then and there (happens too often at my house like when they want their treats right then and the phone is ringing. guess who gets answered first.)
