Author | Topic: I can't sleep - my dog snores |

![]() ![]() ![]() I have not been able to sleep through an entire night in ages - not only because I'm pregnant (due Oct 4) but also because my Boston Terrier snores ALL NIGHT LONG! And loud too! And once he gets started I can't wake him. It was funny at first, but I'm starting to wonder if there could be a problem. I seem to remember back when he was just a puppy hearing that Boston Terriers can have trouble breathing. Does anyone think this could be a symptom? He's 3 years old now, and has been a snorer for about a year. (Too bad they don't make those nose strips for dogs!) IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() I think that is just one of the dog types that snores. You could bring him to the vet for a check-up if you are worried, just to ease your mind. Other than that, I would think the only possible solutions are to either learn to sleep with the noise, use a noisemaker in the room to perhaps drown out the snoring noise with a more constant, soothing noise, or move him to another room. ![]() ![]() ![]() My grandma had a boxer that snored like crazy. We went camping one time and my mom, grandma, the dog, and I were all sleeping in the camper. The dog started snoring so my grandma was trying to get her to stop so she was yelling at her and finally poked her with a broom to wake her up. Well the dog woke up and the snoring continued, turns out it was me keeping everyone up! The poor dog was really confused. I would suggest a humidifier or a noise machine to help drown out the snoring, they really help. Although I'm not sure anything drowns out my snoring, but I don't wake myself up so it doesn't bother me! IP: Logged |

![]() ![]() ![]() My Yorkie snores. But, not to the point of keeping us awake. It is like she is mimicking us. I say she snores like my husband and he says she snores like me. This began in later years as she is 12. IP: Logged |
