![]() ![]() ![]() There is no way of telling the sex of an oscar just by looking at it. The only ways are to disect it (not recommended), look at the vent (involves handling the fish and it takes a lot of experience to be able to consistently tell the differnce), and actually observe a successful spawning (ie the eggs actually get fertilized) and see which one layed the eggs. And yes, the best way to get a pair is to buy about 6 juveniles and as they mature pairs should form. Then you just keep the pair and get return/find new homes for the rest. Also, the BARE MINIMUM for 2 oscars is a 75 gallon tank. But that will ONLY work if the osars actually like eachother. -Chelle IP: Logged |
