    this is old.. does anyone the if the ban went through

    Apparently it did. Not sure if it's still in effect though. The AKC has an article on their site from Sept '02 saying that A.A. imposed a ban in August '02 after the incident in July.

    LOL - right after posting that, I found more recent news on AKC's website. You can read the article here. Synopsis: in May '03, A.A. decided to reverse the ban. They imposed stricter policies on crates. The reversal would have been sooner, but there were major lay-offs in Nov '02 that delayed things.
