If a cat wasnt meant to have claws it woulda been born without...

Thats my feeling on declawing....same with docking tails and any other nasty we humans can think up that makes us believe an animal is more acceptable with

I have to admit that I have met quite a few people who have had their cat declawed but had no understanding of what it really involved....and then theyve spent a long time feeling guilty over it. Personally I think that any procedure should be explained as fully as possible by the vet prior to carrying out the procedure....especially things like this (an elective surgery).

I think that we all do things that we sometimes think are either for the best or 'not a big deal', we are all capable of ignorance in one respect or another, and I dont mean deliberate ignorance I just mean that we dont always take the time to look into things more thoroughly or we take someone elses word for it (whatever it is). I know there are things that Ive done in the past that knowing what I know now I would have done differently, not talking about declawing but just generally speaking.
