For my 10 gallon, which started as tropical, then went cichlid (ignore spelling) then back to tropical, then to something else i forget. then back to tropical and now im thinking of:

    4 AFDs (African Dwarf Frogs)
    3 Red wags,
And POSSIBLY my betta (Which does co-operate with other fish)

(NOTE: I did not buy anything yet, no 10 gallon no nothing, all i got is my betta in his 1/2 gallon.)

You could keep 4 adf's and your Betta in the ten gallon but nothing else. Platies imo need a 20 gallon tank minimum.
