I'm so sorry for your loss. At least you tried all you could and he's no longer in pain. Take care of yourself.

I am very sorry for your loss. I really do hope there is a place GOD keeps all his animals safe somehow under his loving care, as we have done for the years we have spent with our pets.
    My deepest sympathies.

Thank you so much for your postings and your private messages. It means a lot to us to know that you cared.

This past week has been a very emotional times for us. The day after Sammy left us we found something from Sammy... it was like Sammy leaving us a message letting us know we did the right thing. When Sammy got sick that Sunday afternoon, we still didn't know if he was sick because of the enema or if it was the cancer, because we thought he still couldn't poop after the enema. Last Wednesday night, the night after Sammy was laid to rest we found a couple of nice heathy poop in front of my luggage, which we used to block him from hiding the week before (about 4 days after the enema). Those heathy poop we found made us realize that we did the right thing and that it was the cancer that was making him sick and that it was the right time to let him go.

There hasn't been a day that has gone by that we find ourselves not talking about Sammy... we miss him so very much. We finally picked up Sammy's ashes today. It took a lot longer than we expected but Sammy is finally home now.

Sammy will forever live in our hearts... we miss you Sammy!!!

I am so sorry to hear about Sammy. I'm glad that you are able to know that you made the right decision. It is never easy, but you did what a loving owner would do.

My mom has a cat that looks almost exactly the same and he is also named Sammy. How strange. She rescued him when after he was viciously attacked by a dog. I work at a vet clinic and I always cry when an animal is put to sleep, I think the tech thinks I am crazy! It is always sad when an animal passes, but it is the circle of life. There are always more kitties to help and love and we never forget those who have passed over.

I am so sorry for your loss. I lost my kitty too, on May 19th of this year. I know all too well how sad you are and how much you miss him. It's such a great loss to lose one of our much loved fur animals.

:( such a sad story. so hard to loose a kitty we love. many of us on this forum have had the same experience. my kitty otis died on march 17 of this year. his ashes are on my counter, with his picture next to the urn and a statue of a little girl with a cat in her lap next to the picture. even as i type this, my eyes are full of tears. i just loved him soooo much. its just sad.
