But as far as those statistics go, they are void...you can't get an accurate reading unless you tested the exact # of each breed of dog...so really your not getting any information at all. They tested 500+ australian shephards but only 4 bulldogges??

There are no National Laws of Average when it comes to temperament in dogs in general. That would mean testing every dog in the Country. The stats come from the American Temperamnet Test Society where owners have had their dogs tested. The ATTS will recognize and award certificates to dogs passing the test.

On an over-all average, they would not apply.

    ATTS States:

Because of breed-specific dog legislation and negative publicity associated with many breeds of dogs, temperament testing has assumed an important role for today's dog fancier. The ATTS temperament test provides breeders a means for evaluating temperament and gives pet owners insight into their dog's behavior. It can have an impact on breeding programs and in educating owners about their dog's behavioral strengths and weaknesses as well as providing a positive influence on dog legislation.

My point is, all breeds of dogs are on equal levels as far as temperament. No breed is exempt. Just some breeds are singled out and made more aware of.
