In my nesting box for my cockatiels I have corncob and some shredded toilet paper. Is this safe? If not then what is? please respond...

Hi i put 2inches if plain woodshavings in my cockatiel nest boxes and i press it down then they adjust this to there liking.

Plain woodshavings is the safest thing to use as cockatiels have a tendancy to feed there chicks with whats in the nest put wont with shavings...

I've read online that woodshavings aren't safe. But you've done this before and know it doesn't cause problems? I want the best for them and I don't want them to get sick or anything. Just another question, When is cockatiels breeding season? Can they breed anytime of the year if you give they a nesting box to encourage them?

all birds will breed anytime of the year if given the right conditions but unless they are 2years of age they should not be allowed to breed.
Also they should not be allowed to have more than 2clutches in any one breeding cycle..
