Do you have a picture on your desktop? If so, what is it right now.

Mine is a very pretty picture of a sunset. I do change mine often, though. Sometimes I use a family member or maybe one of my cute kitties or maybe a holiday theme. I love nature type scenes and use those most often.

I change it fairly often. Right now it's a close-up of an apple tree (with a bee!) I took last May:

More often than not, I don't have picture on it.

edit - funny you should bring this up, cause I just changed my avatar to a different close-up of that same apple tree!

Mine is photo of my Rott Babe (deceased now) laying down by a bench at Laurel Canyon Dog park in Hollywierd. I usually have photos, the last one I had up was of my fiance on a makeshift bridge he and his troop built in Iraq to get the local people across a river with all their sheep.

That is so interesting about your fiance, DeLaUK.

And halaroo, such a pretty picture of your apple tree. Love the bee in it.
I tried to get a picture of a bee on our bush recently but had the camera set wrong so it didn't work.

The last desktop I had was a picture of a Forsysthia (sp?) bush that is in our front yard. Here it is:

This is the one I have now. I think it came with the computer.

I have that one that came with the puter that's an island scene.

Hey Delauk--my brother was in Iraq last year. He came back last May. I was wondering if that's why you were in Germany.

I was actually planning on moving back to UK (family issue) but after he went to Iraq I kind of figured...lifes too short. Hes English but has lived in Germany for about 20 years, was in the army, came out and then was recalled for Iraq. Weve actually known each other for about 30 years...since we were kids, but then got on with our own lives and met up again about 5 years ago when I was in the process of moving back to UK so after a lot of trips inbetween I finally decided to come here, I still need to spend some time in UK but the flights work out to about $40 each way so its workable.
Who is your brother with? any chance he has to go back?, My fiance is kind of 'on stanby' right now, he probably wont have to go back but theres always that possibility...he hasnt been told 'no trips out the country yet' so thats a good sign.
Whereabouts was your brother when he was there? Fiance was mainly around Basra and Um Qasr when it all started, he was there for about 4 months. The regiment down the street from where I live are preparing to go back there again and my cousin is doing a second tour, my ex husband was out there filming for CNN, my best friends brother was there and a co-workers 2 brothers were there, one is on his second tour also.

This is a pic of the bridge (I think near Port Anna), its made from amphibious....???? I call them water trucks, they drive these trucks on land and into the water then they open up and connect to make a bridge, I couldnt find the one with the sheep on, I think I put it on a cd somewhere :?

Wow, that's alot of folks to worry about. :? The year my brother was in Iraq was one of my worst times. He was with the Army Corps of Engineers and started in Nassariah (sp?) then to Taji. He transferred upon return into another Georgia National Guard unit which is non-deployable. He was there from June 2003 to May 2004. And consequently I now have a new neice that's 3 months old named Sumatra--just kidding. Her name is Kristen--they wouldn't take my suggestions!

I have a friend who's daughter's husband is in the Army and was stationed in Germany but they flew home yesterday. He spent a year in Iraq too--about the same time as my brother. His unit has already been given orders for another tour of duty though...but he was allowed to come home.

Its good that your brother doesnt have to go back...and congratulations on your new neice :D

I found myself, in the beginning watching every news channel constantly, even though I didnt want to see it. And waiting for mail almost made me nuts. I cant even remember how many phone calls I made to the UK army hotline to check on relatives every time I heard someone had been killed, the worst was when 2 Royal Engineers (UK) were killed but they wouldnt release the names, my fiances troop was joined up with them....hope he doesnt have to go back.
I think, even though its bad all over Iraq that most of the Brits are around the south, (although my cousin is in central now), it seems a little easier for them there than it does up around central Iraq were the US troops are.
Just hope they can all come home soon.

I watched the news constantly too. My sister-in-law was just the opposite.

Yeah, I hope they all can come home soon too and hopefully your fiance doesn't have to go back.

I changed mine again. Since we are going to visit my daughter in Las Vegas soon (to see her new baby) I now have a picture of the Balagio Casino with its musical water fountain as my desktop wallpaper.

I changed it a little quicker than usual this time.
    :)

For coppersmom, found the one with the sheep, a couple of the guys grew up on farms and were helping round them up to get them onto the bridge. :D
