What time of year will parakeets mate?

I have had only male parakeets and have recently bought a female. Is there a certain time of year that they will mate or will they mate anytime all conditions are right?

Hi if they are kept indoors and the conditions are right for them then they will breed all year round.

It is best not to breed during the winter as it gets too cold and the chicks could get a chill.

You need to make sure everything is right for the female otherwise you could end up with a very sick female or even worse a dead one.
I suggest doing alot of research on breeding before even allowing them to breed that way you can minimize the risks to the female and her chicks.

Thanks very much for the advice. I will wait until spring just to be certain.

You also want to make sure that your birds are mature (18-24 months old) before you even attempt to breed them.
