Jamiya...you are thinking of wedgeheads and they are the cats that are shown. I have the traditional appleheads (prefer the look). There is traditional, classic (in between the 2) and modern (the extreme wedgie).

Sarge's Mom. When I got Sadie dawg as a 3 month old puppy 10 years ago I had a kitten that was 8 months old. So those 2 basically grew up together and they would have some rough play time. Sessy would hang onto Sadie neck while Sadie spun around trying to get rid of her...Sessy's feet would be out straight in the air. Then Sessy would wash Sadie's face and ears and Sadie would just about fall asleep!! Sessy went missing 2 years ago and I won't let another cat outside.

Anyway I think when they are raised together they do fine as long as you insist the dog treats the cat with respect.

Also as good as Sadie is with cats she HATES any cats outside of her pack. We have a neighbor cat that Sadie would love get ahold of...Domino insists on walking through our yard just to get Sadie going :? . I think dogs begin to see their inside cats as part of the pack and they accept them, other cats don't belong so they are fair game.

I have also heard of dogs going after their own cats OUTSIDE, because to them outside is different from inside. There was a tragic story of a dog and a cat who played great together and had been together for years. But they went outside and the cat ran by the dog and the dog went after it and killed it. :(

I definitely prefer the applehead. I think they are absolutely gorgeous!!

Mary; Thank you for the meezer info. I was raised around both cats and dogs, but have really powerhoused in the dog species since getting mine 3 1/2 years ago. You guys have taught me some things about kittys. I never knew too that cats can be called apple heads. th ones that really catch my attention and the calicos. Plus, I have a soft spot in my heart for my neeighbors three legged kitty. I wish I could take her in. Her owner does not have enough time for her. Since I got my dogs she used to run from me, but I think she knows I won't let the dogs go after her. She is white with splotches of tabby markings on her face. She's smaller than most cats too. How do you all deal with all the cat hair? You guys all have such sweet looking cats.

How do we deal with all the cat hair? I just ignore it! :D

Actually, right now Nala is shedding way worse than any cat. Although perhaps her black fur just shows up better than the mostly white cat hair?

I have a calico. She is not the sharpest tack in the box. In fact, I don't think she knows where the box is...

Talk about shedding! Good Grief my Pekingese should be bald by now! She is shedding so bad like big fur balls bad.

Yeah, except it wouldn't work because she wouldn't understand the "cat fud" signs. She tends to sit and stare a lot...

My husband teases her by stepping on her tail. She yowls. But she doesn't move. Ever. So I have to yell from the next room, "Please stop stepping on my cat!"

You could sit on her when she's on the couch. She looks curious at first and then somewhat alarmed, but again she does not move.

I think she forgets we have dogs. Every once in a while she will stroll into the "dog room" and start meandering aimlessly across the floor. She seems surprised when the dogs bolt upright and streak towards her.

Get the Zoom Groom to get rid of shedding fur. It works wonders on my 4 cats. They have Zoom Grooms for dogs too at Petsmart. The average price should be $7. Sorry guys, I'm too ugly to have my pics shown. Here are my babies and I'm in my 30's. I would love to have dogs but my 19 month old still breaks out in instant rash/hives with dog licks/kisses.

my window for the pic wasn'T maximized so I saw the pic entitled pumkin and only saw the baby and thought hmm pumkin, thats not your everyday name for a kid, maybe a nickname? and looked at and then I relized there was more to the pic!! duhuh

I have a Zoom Groom. Trust me, it is not really helping with the dog shedding. I can brush enough fur out of her in about a minute to make a new dog and if I kept brushing all day, more would still come out.

i mean really like jamiya said
i could brush Luther forever and still have a very fluffy dog, I brush luther nearly every day and every day i can brush out a dog his same size and not notice a difference in Luther. it doesn'T stop!! how do they produce so much hair. Maybe the people at rogain should look into dog hair transplants and not chemicals.
